The issue of vitamin D supply or deficiency doesn´t only occupy the human area, we are also increasingly reaching our limits in animal nutrition due to improved genetics, better feed utilization and legal limits.

With the innovative product Panbonis®, manufactured by the Swiss company Herbonis, new ways and opportunities open up to optimize the vitamin D supply of our livestock. Panbonis® is a natural product containing the bioactive form of vitamin D.

We welcomed numerous guests and customers from our neighboring countries Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Slovenia.

In addition to the colleagues of the company Herbonis we also managed to win two internationally recognized speakers for the seminar.

Mr. Dr. Franco Calini, independent poultry specialist from Italy, spoke about the challenges and possibilities of optimal vitamin D supply in chickens, legal restrictions and practical examples on the effects of vitamin D deficiency.

Mr. Dr. John Barber, independent pig specialist from the UK, gave us an insight into the non-classical effects of vitamin D in sows. Especially with his immense experience as a consultant in various regions of the world (Europe, Canada, South Africa, Asia), he was able to inspire the participants.

On the morning of the second day, a visit to the Institute for Organic Agriculture of the HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein at the Thalheim / Wels site was on the program. Mr. Dr. Werner Hagmüller (Site Manager Thalheim / Wels) gave the interested participants an insight into their activities and possible developments in organic pig farming in Austria. Our guests were impressed by the large structural differences and the economic efficiency of these systems.

We would like to thank all participants and speakers for the interest and the successful event!
